CLARK
– Nearly 25 Girl Scouts of all ages from the Clark/Winfield/Garwood
Community of the Girl Scouts of Washington Rock Council Inc.
prepared Thanksgiving meals for those less fortunate on the
afternoon of Nov. 23. Working in the kitchen at the Clark Municipal
Building, the girls concocted a plethora of Thanksgiving delicacies
including turkey rolls, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and deviled
eggs. The meals were then delivered to teenagers currently
incarcerated at the Union County Detention Center in Elizabeth as
well as those currently housed at the Union County Shelter, also in
Elizabeth.
Clark, Garwood and Winfield are three of the 24 member communities
proudly serviced by GSWRC. The GSWR Council is Headquartered in
Westfield, the Council serves nearly 11,000 girls and adults under
the auspices of Girl Scouts of the USA, America’s preeminent
organization dedicated solely to girls - the council is run by a
paid professional staff. The Clark, Garwood & Winfield Girl
Scouts are run solely by volunteer leaders in their communities.
