Current Age/Grade Groups

The Clark, Garwood & Winfield Girl Scouts have had a busy several weeks.

On the weekend of December 2nd and 3rd approximately 450 girls and their

mothers participated in the Annual Mother-Daughter Breakfast/Dance.

This was the fifth year the event has been held over a two morning span.

The morning was started with breakfast, Eggs, French Toast, Sausage,

Bacon, Home Fries, Bagels and Danish and then the girls and their moms

had a terrific time dancing the morning away with DJ's Mel and Eric.

The dads provided support for serving in the kitchen.  A wonderful relaxing

time was held by all getting ready to go into the hustle and bustle of the

Holiday Season.

At the breakfast the girls decorated placemats which were used at a

spaghetti dinner on Sunday afternoon into the evening which was

sponsored by the Linden/Elizabeth Elks special Children's Unit.

This dinner was held for one of our Daisy scouts who has been

undergoing extensive cancer treatments.  The Junior Girl Scout troops

of St. John the Apostle assisted in the serving and clearing of place

settings that afternoon as well.

On Saturday, December 9th the girls of these three communities came

together again to make "favors" that contained peppermints to be delivered

to shut-ins throughout the area.  Over 3,000 of these "favors" were made

in a 2-1/2 hour time period and they were delivered by leaders and helpers

to various places including but not limited to: Clark Nursing Home, The Atria,

Westfield Assisted Living, Brighton Senior Assisted Living, Union County

Meals-on-wheels program, the Veteran's Home at Menlo Park and various

other neighboring Nursing Homes.

Once again, on Sunday, December 17th 80-100 of our girl scouts took time

out of their busy Holiday schedules for our Annual Holiday Caroling at The

Atria Assisted Living.  The girls were accompanied by one of our volunteer

dads who is a guitarist and a wonderful afternoon was had by the girls and

the residents.

Clark, Garwood and Winfield Girl Scouts would like to wish every member

of the communities which encompass Girl Scouts of Washington Rock

Council a very Happy Holiday Season and a Healthy and Happy New Year !!!
